Early College

Are you a high school student who is ready to learn what college is all about? Or maybe you want to simultaneously supplement your high school English course to obtain college credit for English 105? Do you want to get a student ID to take advantage of the perks of being a college student while still in high school? With the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Early College program you can learn more about being a college student while finishing your high school degree!

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Has Two Options for You:

1. Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment (DE) is the enrollment of a high school student in a college course for which dual credit (both college & high school credit) is attempted and recorded on both the student's secondary and postsecondary institution. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ partners with local high schools to offer college courses at the high school that are taught by a qualified high school teacher.

How to Apply:

Your high school counselor will let you know when the Dual Enrollment Application is available.

1. Apply for admission to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ using the online application at Be sure to select the "Dual Enrollment" option.
2. Complete the Dual Enrollment packet via the Docusign link provided by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½.

2. The LSU Shreveport Academic Excellence Program (AEP)

The LSU Shreveport Academic Excellence Program (AEP) provides high school students the opportunity to earn college credit. If you have completed the ninth grade then you may be eligible to enroll in selected courses at LSU Shreveport!

How to Apply

1. Apply for admission to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ using the online application at Be sure to select the "AEP" option.
2. Complete the AEP Registration Forms Packet.
3. Have your high school counselor sign the packet and provide your official transcript and test scores. All documents can be emailed to Luke.Digilormo@lsus.edu.

Deadlines

There are regular deadlines every semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer) after which we will not accept applications for the next semester. These dates can be found on the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Calendar.

• Take courses at a reduced cost (only $50 per credit hour!).
• Explore subjects that may not be available in high school and discover what interests you!

Transcript Requests
