Academic Eligibility

  • 2.0+ US secondary/high school grade point average, or equivalent
  • Completion of a recognized secondary education qualification
  • Official academic transcripts from all secondary and tertiary/higher education institutions attended must be received by the University no later than 30 days prior to the start of your program.
  • All international credentials/certificates/degrees are required to have a Course-by-course credential evaluation completed by a member of the or the Evaluations must be sent directly from the evaluation agency and may be emailed to admissions@lsus.edu.
  • ACT or SAT Test Scores required if <3.0 GPA
    • ACT: English = 18+ and Math = 19+
    • SAT: Reading Writing = 500+ and Math = 510+

Graduate

Academic Eligibility

  • 2.5+ overall undergraduate grade point average (with no graduate work attempted) OR 2.75+ grade point average (in the last 60 graduate hours attempted) AND a 3.0 GPA in all attempted graduate work with no grades of D or F
  • Completion of a recognized tertiary education qualification
  • Official academic transcripts from all US secondary and tertiary/higher education institutions
    attended must be received by the University no later than 30 days prior to the start of your
    program

GRADUATE REQUIREMENTS

      • 550+ on PBT
      • 80+ on iBT
    •  – 6.5+ overall, with 6.0+ in each component
    •  – 53+ overall
    •  – 105+ overall

Some applicants may be exempt from English proficiency requirements if they:

  • Earned a US high school diploma or any degree from an accredited US tertiary/higher education institution
  • Have a 2.5 overall GPA with 30 credit hours of university-level coursework at a regionally accredited US higher education institution, to include one non-remedial course each in Mathematics and English, or two consecutive non-remedial English courses
  • Have held an H1B visa for 3+ years, or are exempted due to another listed condition; H1B visa holders not holding a US education credential or not from one of the English waiver countries listed below must provide proof of three (3) years' work experience resident in the US by submitting: 1. Current resume/CV, AND 2. Copy of H1B visa(s)
  • Are a national of or completed secondary or tertiary education in a country where English is the official primary language of instruction (some departments or degree programs may still require English proficiency tests or an additional interview): Anguilla; Antigua and Barbuda; Australia; The Bahamas; Barbados; Belize; British Virgin Islands; Canada; Cayman Islands; Dominica; Ghana; Gibraltar; Grenada; Guyana; Ireland; Jamaica; Kenya; Lesotho; Malta; Mauritius; Montserrat; New Zealand; Nigeria; Seychelles; Singapore; South Africa; St Kitts and Nevis; St Lucia; St Vincent and the Grenadines; Trinidad and Tobago; Turks and Caicos Islands; Uganda; United Kingdom; Zambia; Zimbabwe.

All international credentials for admission* must be in the form of a course-by-course evaluation completed by an approved evaluation agency. Evaluations must come directly to the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Admissions Office from a current member of one of the following professional organizations:

  • (AICE)
  • (NACES)
  • (medical credential evaluations only)
  • (medical credential evaluations only)

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s preferred evaluation agencies are:

  • (NACES) - students who use the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Institution Portal will receive their evaluation at a discounted rate in three (3) days with standard processing
  • (NACES) - students who use the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ portal for TEC services will receive the appropriate evaluation at a discounted rate
  • (AICE) - required for NAIA athlete applicants

* Applicants from partner universities may be exempted from this requirement if the partnership allows, but must submit official transcripts sent directly from their home university Registrar to admissions@lsus.edu.
