What is the RAVE system

The RAVE system has various functionalities, namely serving as the primary platform utilized the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Police and key staff to send alerts to the campus community. The RAVE system allows ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ emergency personnel to send messages via text, email, computer notification, TV signage, social media and RAVE Guardian app notices in the event of an emergency. Messages are sent to all faculty, staff and students only when deemed absolutely necessary. 

How to sign up for RAVE messaging

Faculty, staff and students do not need to signup for RAVE messaging, as contact information is automatically uploaded from ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ personnel and student records nightly. However, it is of utmost importance that you ensure your cell phone number is accurate in MyÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ (students) and Workday (faculty/staff). 

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ community is also encouraged to download the RAVE Guardian app to their cell phones to access the additional features offered by the app, such as notifications to contacts letting them know when you've arrived at your destination or the ability to report suspicious activity directly to the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Police. The app also has important contact numbers for emergency services and hotlines.

Explain an Emergency Notification

In the event of an emergency that poses a significant danger to health or safety, the university will issue an immediate notification to protect the campus community. The university will determine if a situation is an emergency on a case-by-case basis. The primary goal is life safety, so the university may err on the side of caution.
