SHREVEPORT – The date is set.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ baseball team will visit the White House on Oct. 20 to recognize the first team in college baseball history to have an undefeated season.

The perfect Pilots were 59-0 this past season en route to the university’s first-ever NAIA national championship in any sport.

The White House invitation came from Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, who represents Louisiana’s Fourth District  (includes Shreveport-Bossier).

Johnson called the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ baseball team during the June 2 celebration in downtown Shreveport’s Festival Plaza to make the official invitation.

Further details of the visit are still being finalized.
